Wardrobe’s can often seem like a bit of a waste of wall space in a bedroom and replacing them with stylish doors or mirrors can be an expensive outing. But two quick coats of chalkboard paint transformed these ugly wardrobe doors into a customisable piece of art.
Apply two coats of chalkboard paint to your surface letting each coat dry thoroughly before applying the next. Then grab out the chalk, turn up the tunes and get lettering!
Whilst I’m far from an expert on lettering I can highly recommend you check out this tutorial on how to create ‘cheats calligraphy’ by Lindsay of The Postmans Knock for some great tips to get you started.
When working with chalkboard paint, have a bottle of cola close by. If your chalk skills are fairly imperfect (like mine!) or you want a fresh message on your chalkboard, a little cola on a cloth will wipe off any chalk without leaving white chalk smudges everywhere. Just let it dry out and start again.
