We’re living in a moment where we’re surrounded by beautiful versions of everyday moments. We get up in the morning and have scrolled through a flood of visual delight featuring people’s breakfasts, morning coffee runs and fresh flowers before we’ve finished our own sub-par, non photogenic vegemite toast. The effect? We’re getting sucked into a comparison trap. Constantly comparing everyone else’s ‘best’ to our ‘right now’ and left feeling never quite good enough.
Comparison kills creativity.
Creativity takes courage. And it’s hard to be courageous when we’re feeling never quite good enough.
So rather than set the stage that what we’re surrounded with on our instagram feeds is the bar for everyday moments, let’s adjust the lens that we look through, change the perspective and look to the beauty as inspiration. Inspiration of what can be done and what is possible.
Drop the comparison card, stop letting comparison kill creativity, instead be inspired and then have the courage to let your creativity flourish.
